Kangowrite is designed as a secure writing platform for students.  Privacy is a top priority at Kangowrite.  We want you to use our software without worrying about how and what information is being gathered.  We strive to make our privacy policy clear and simple.  Our Privacy Policy below describes our strict policies for protecting the personal information of students and schools.  Kangowrite, LLC complies with all applicable federal and state data privacy laws including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and the Family Education and Privacy Rights Act ("FERPA").  We also uphold the  EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related regulations.


Use extreme caution when accessing any website on the internet.   Kangowrite is solely responsible for the content on our website.  Kangowrite shall have no liability related to the use of any external service or website.

What We Collect


Kangowrite collects paper contents, paper names and titles, comments, writing times, and dates within the homepage to allow students to access their work.  Kangowrite saves all this information online in a private account so you may access it anytime and anywhere. Kangowrite only collects information when you are signed in.


Kangowrite collects the following personal information when you register or subscribe: Name, email address, school name, and grade.  No identifiers are ever used except to provide support for our internal operations, products, and services.  IP addresses are never shared with any third party. 


Kangowrite only collects information that you save and will NOT track your movement to sites visited across the web.   


Cookies: Certain information is stored using cookies. These cookies are used for the limited purpose of maintaining and customizing your experience.  You can control and disable the use of cookies through your browser.  However, if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit the use of certain Kangowrite features or functions.


Kangowrite can connect to Google Docs through APIs, if a student wishes to export certain papers or parts thereof to that service. If the user is not already authenticating through one of those services, Kangowrite prompts for the user’s G Suite ID to facilitate this integration, and that ID is not used by Kangowrite for any other purpose.


Uses of Information


Kangowrite will NEVER share your identity with a teacher unless you choose to share it with them.

We collect information when we register users on our site, to communicate with users about features or changes to our site, and to track how users are accessing our site.  Kanngowrite may use aggregated non-identifiable user information to determine what improvements should be made in order to improve your experience.


If you choose to publish a fact or paper to a social media platform then you, alone, are responsible for anything that you publish.



Users Under Age 13 – Privacy Policy


We will not share or sell children’s personal information other than as described in this section.

Kangowrite only collects information about a child under the age of 13 as is reasonably necessary for the child to access and use Kangowrite. We do not condition access to our website on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to register the child.


Kangowrite is committed to protecting the privacy of children under the age of 13. We encourage parents, legal guardians, schools and districts to educate children and students about online safety and to carefully monitor children’s use of the Internet.


We may disclose aggregated non-identifiable information about our users and information in order to improve our products and services.


We may disclose to third parties used to support the internal operations of our website and who are bound by contractual or other obligations to use the information only for such purpose and to keep the information confidential.


We may disclose information as required to by law or legal process, such as to comply with any court order or subpoena or to respond to any government or regulatory request.


We may disclose if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of a child.


We may disclose to law enforcement agencies or for an investigation related to public safety.


In the event we have collected or any personal information received from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent we will delete all information pertaining to that child. Security of Data Collected


Kangowrite uses industry-standard SSL to ensure that student data is encrypted and transmitted securely from end to end. We have measures in place to secure your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Do not share your password and avoid using your password in public areas where your information may be easily viewed by others.

While we try to protect your personal information to the best of our abilities, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our website. The Internet is not completely secure. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the website.




Under the “Limited Exceptions to COPPA’s Verifiable Parental Consent Requirement,” when a student working in Kangowrite uses the share function to email their work to themselves or another person or uses the notification function to notify them via email of calendared due dates, the email address is used in a one-time manner for that purpose.



Merger, Sale, or Acquisition


In the event that we merge with, sell to, or are acquired by, another entity, we will require that successor entity to comply with our Privacy Policy. If such successor entity wishes to materially change the method by which your personal information is collected, stored or protected, the successor entity will obtain new consents from our users regarding your personal information, or such previously collected personal information will be deleted permanently from our servers.


Data Correction and Destruction


You may request at any time to review a child’s personal information maintained by us, request a correction or deletion of personal information, or refuse to permit us to further collect or use the child’s information. To protect the child’s privacy and security, we will require you to take certain steps to verify your identity before we provide any information or make corrections.  All requests should be sent to
